Single Instance

Opening pvdownloader again brings the existing window to the front instead of starting a second copy, so two windows can never fight over the same download queue.

Close to Tray

Closing the window now hides the app to the notification area and leaves downloads running. This is on by default, so the app may look closed while it is still there. Tray menu > Exit always quits it completely, and Settings can turn the behaviour off.

Minimize to Tray

Minimizing can send the app to the tray instead of the taskbar. Kept separate from closing, and off by default.

Tray Notifications

The first time you close the window, a notification explains that the app is still running in the tray rather than quitting. On by default.

Cross-Platform Desktop App

Windows, macOS and Linux, each in x64 and ARM64 builds, published as Native AOT binaries.

Native Scrapers + yt-dlp Fallback

Twelve platforms are read directly by the app. Everything else goes through the optional yt-dlp engine. No account, no sign-in.

HLS and Progressive MP4

Adaptive HLS streams are remuxed for you when FFmpeg is installed. Without it the app warns before saving a video that would be silent.

Queue, Proxy, Themes, 7 Languages

A download queue with a configurable concurrent-job limit, HTTP and SOCKS proxies, light and dark themes, and seven interface languages.

Optional Tools, Never Bundled

FFmpeg, yt-dlp and aria2 are installed from Settings only if you ask for them. The app never downloads anything by itself.

Silent Background Updates

Installed builds check the release feed and update themselves in the background, without a prompt or a reinstall.

Parallel Where It Actually Helps

HLS segments download in parallel by default. Splitting a single progressive MP4 across connections needs the optional aria2 engine, and is off until you enable it.
