pvdownloader is proprietary software provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to download, install and run the binary executables of pvdownloader on compatible personal devices that you own or control.

This license applies equally to any update, upgrade or additional component that replaces or supplements the original software, unless that update is accompanied by a separate license.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of pvdownloader, except to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based upon the software.
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially distribute pvdownloader, or include it in a commercial product or service, without explicit prior written consent from the copyright holder.
• Remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice contained in or on the software.
• Redistribute the software from any source other than the official channel published on this website.

The software — including its source code, object code, architecture, branding, logo, icons, and design assets — is and remains the exclusive intellectual property of the copyright holder. This agreement transfers no ownership rights whatsoever; you receive only the limited license expressly described above.

pvdownloader incorporates or interfaces with the third-party components listed in the attribution table below. Each of those components remains the property of its respective authors and is governed by its own license, not by this agreement.

Components marked as bundled — 36 of them, licensed 35 MIT, 1 Apache-2.0 — are compiled into the application and distributed with it. Their copyright notices and full license texts ship inside every copy, in the licenses folder beside the executable, as those licenses require. The table is generated from that same file, so it describes the build you actually have.

Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those third-party licenses. If any third-party license conflicts with this agreement as it applies to that component, the third-party license prevails for that component only.

yt-dlp, FFmpeg and aria2 are optional components: they are not distributed with pvdownloader, they are not required for the application to run, and they are only obtained if you explicitly request them. They are downloaded directly from their official distributions, or supplied by a copy already installed on your system. The author does not distribute these components and is not responsible for them.

Those three optional components are separate, unmodified programs invoked as separate processes. None of them is linked into pvdownloader, and none of their licenses extends to pvdownloader’s own code.

The software may check for and install updates automatically. You can disable automatic updates in the application settings; if you do, you are responsible for installing security fixes manually.

You acknowledge and agree that the author has no obligation to provide any update, upgrade, bug fix, new feature, technical support, maintenance or customer service of any kind. Any update or assistance that is provided is offered at the author’s sole discretion, may be discontinued at any time without notice, and does not create any ongoing obligation or expectation of future support.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE. BECAUSE THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED ZERO.

This license is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically and without notice if you breach any term of this agreement. On termination you must stop using the software and delete all copies in your possession. Sections 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9 survive termination.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. The courts of İstanbul, Türkiye, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this agreement. Nothing in this clause deprives you of the mandatory consumer protections of the country in which you reside.

pvdownloader is proprietary software, but it stands on the shoulders of open-source projects maintained by people who give their work away for free. Thank you to the maintainers and contributors of Avalonia UI, Velopack, yt-dlp, FFmpeg and aria2 — and to everyone who has filed a bug report, sent a patch, or written documentation for them.
