Windows will warn you the first time you run it
SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC” and shows only a “Don’t run” button. The way past is hidden behind a link.
- 1On that dialog, click the “More info” link.
- 2“Run anyway” appears below it. Click that.
The warning means Windows does not recognise the publisher. A code-signing certificate is a paid subscription this project does not buy, so the build is unsigned. If you would rather be certain the file is the one we published, check its SHA-256 first — the digest is on the Download page.
Installation
- 1Download the installer or the portable ZIP above.
- 2Run the installer, or extract the ZIP wherever you like and launch pvdownloader.exe.
- 3If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info and then Run anyway — the build is unsigned.
- 4Add yt-dlp or FFmpeg from the settings later, only if a feature asks for them.
