Native support

Rumble Video Downloader

Rumble is supported natively, so a public video downloads with no extra setup. Paste a watch or embed link, choose a rendition, and the file is written straight to disk.

Rumble is the one native provider where the fallback chain actually matters. It sits behind a Cloudflare bot check that is intermittent rather than absolute — the same link can analyse fine one minute and be turned away the next. When the native path is denied, pvdownloader hands the link to yt-dlp instead of simply reporting a failure.

What you can download from Rumble

Watch and embed links

Both rumble.com/v… watch URLs and /embed/{id} URLs resolve to the same video, so either one works.

MP4 and HLS

Progressive MP4 where Rumble exposes it, plus the HLS variant ladder expanded into individual options.

No re-encoding

The stream is saved exactly as Rumble serves it, with no transcoding pass over it.

How to download from Rumble

  1. 1

    Copy the video link

Copy the address-bar URL from the watch page, or an /embed/{id} URL if that is what you have — both are recognised. Channel, user and listing pages are not, because they point at collections rather than a single video.

  2. 2

    Paste it into pvdownloader

The app resolves the video and shows you its title, duration, uploader and the formats on offer before anything is written to disk. If the stream is live, this is where it tells you that live video is not supported.

  3. 3

    Choose a quality and download

Pick a rendition and start the job. The file is saved exactly as Rumble serves it.

Live streams, Cloudflare, and the yt-dlp fallback

Live streams are not supported. When Rumble reports a video as live, pvdownloader says so clearly rather than handing you an empty format list or a file that stops growing. Recorded video works normally; a livestream has to end and be archived on Rumble's side before it can be downloaded.

Rumble is also the only native provider with a real fallback story, and it is worth understanding why. The site sits behind a Cloudflare bot check that is intermittent: the same link can analyse cleanly and then be denied, depending on IP reputation and how much has been downloaded recently. When the native path is turned away, pvdownloader passes the link to yt-dlp if it is installed instead of reporting a failure. Installing the optional engine is therefore more useful for Rumble than for any other built-in provider.

Three URL shapes are deliberately not matched: channel pages, user pages and video listings. Those describe collections rather than a single video, so there is nothing to resolve — use a link to an individual video.

As with every other platform here, the result is a straight copy of the stream. Nothing is stamped onto it, and a downloaded file is just a file: no player, no recommendation feed, and nothing that reports what you watched anywhere.
